Intrada for Bells
This piece makes a lovely choice if you are looking for handbell music for Palm Sunday or other festival occasions.
Leslie Betteridge has taken his neo-romantic organ work, “Intrada” (PPMO 9526) and arranged it for handbells. The expansion of octaves in this arrangement lends itself to a brighter, and more brilliant interpretation of the work. The use of mallets and plucked notes creates contrast in texture in the middle section, while the expansive ending uses the full range of the handbells. This piece would be effective for both solemn or festival occasions.
