Jesus, the Very Thought of Thee
Peter Pindar Stearns
This new work is typical of the lyrical work that comes from Peter Pindar Stearns. From the start Mr. Stearns establishes a memorable tune that is developed throughout the work. The choir parts are of only moderate difficulty and are varied throughout in texture. The third verse is sung by the men with a lush three-part descant sung by the women. Throughout, a contemplative mood is retained and the piece ends in the same manner in which it began.
