Here is a festival anthem, sung in Latin, designed for Trinity Sunday with a text by Hildegard von Bingen. Phillips has set the opening words (“Praise to the Trinity”) with music of grandeur and increasing intensity between choir and instruments (brass quintet, tympani and organ). The second half sets the full text to a 5/8 dance rhythm and the piece concludes with an exciting re-statement of the opening music. Also appropriate for any praise service.
