An Anthem for Easter
Supply Belcher
Supply Belcher’s “An Anthem for Easter” is perhaps the most attractive and accessible short anthem composed by any of our Yankee Tunesmiths in celebration of the Resurrection. Its descriptive text and triumphant mood culminate in a joyful Hallelujah, reminding us of Belcher’s nickname, “The Handel of Maine.”
A recording of this work is available on Gloriae Dei Cantores 010, “Music of the Americas 1492-1992”.
