Description
This Advent text of Charles Wesley is set to music of an introspective character. As in Donald James’ other works, one sees a clarity in the text setting with a grace in the melodic lines that is most appealing. The anthem is mostly homophonic and is harmonically simple to aid in learning.This piece would be appropriate for services during Advent, generally as an anthem or an introit.
