Description

David Hurd’s strophic setting of this text, supportive of the poetic form, remains fresh through sensitively developed harmonic patterns and thoughtfully designed melodic lines. Hurd has elected to omit tempi and dynamic indications which gives latitude for further interpretation of the vision inherent in this hymn. This work for Christmas eve will make a welcome addition to the choir’s repertoire.
