Description
Most Ancient of All Mysteries
Gary Davison
The beauty of this work lies in its simplicity. Verses one and three are set in open octaves with rhythmic flexibility, imbuing the work with a chant-like character. In contrast, verse two is a traditional four-part chorale setting. It is well suited for choirs of various sizes and voicings because of the frequent unison/octave scoring.
