Recessional

Description

This recessional follows in the great English tradition of such works as by Mathias, Jacob, Howells, and others. Its rhythmic motion is full of energy and the themes jump back and forth across the manuals in colorful fashion. The piece builds in intensity and concludes with toccata-like figurations in the hands. Recessional woudl be a splendid postlude as well as a concert work.
