This unusual work is meant to serve as an instrumental “Alleluia” and is set for the organ. The mixed meter and playful figurations provide a delightful experience for both listener and organist. The pedal part is virtuosic only at the conclusion while the manual parts will require some deft fingerwork. There is a lyrical and rich middle section that would effectively display the foundation stops of the organ. “Scherzo” would make an exciting concert piece as well as a postlude.
