Originally from “12 Geistliche Gesange–12 Spiritual Songs–1657”, George Guest’s edition of Schutz’ “The Lord’s Prayer” offers a sensitive setting using the traditional English version. In miniature, this work contains all of the drama and musical complexity encountered on a larger scale in Schutz’ “Passion” settings. Dr. Guest has also carefully placed suggested dynamics.
