Description
There is No Rose
Randall Giles
Set for women’s voices in the traditional English carol form, Randall Giles uses color and simplicity of texture to give this anthem a reflective character. The entire piece stays within a moderate range with purposeful use of dissonance seeming to reflect the sacrifice paid when God became man. The motet concludes with a duet descant on the text ‘transeamus’ over a final chorus.
