Description
Under Oak, Ash, and Thorn
Russell Woolen
This sensitive setting of an Elinor Wylie poem has a hauntingly beautiful melody which is developed throughout the piece. A gently syncopated accompaniment provides discreet support for the singer. Although it is set for a treble voice, a group of women’s voices would also be effective. This work can be used for the Lenten season as well as for Holy Week.
