Description
This is a delightful setting of this traditional text, using bell-like sounds from the piano to impart a contemplative atmosphere. The carol opens with a solo or unison setting of the first verse, modal in sound, while the second verse uses all four voices, with the men singing “Gloria” against the text of the women. The carol concludes with a harmonically richer setting of the verse with a final unison remembrance of the opening music. Wexford Carol would be a great addition to Christmas carol services and concerts.
