The anthem begins with a sturdy unison tune for full choir supported with a harmonically rich organ part. The second verse develops the tune in all voices while the final verse adds a soaring descant over the tune, sung by the men. The anthem gives each voice part a chance to shine in expansive phrases throughout the work. This joyous work will be especially suitable for Pentecost.
