Bullock, Josh

A native of Anniston, Alabama, Joshua Bullock received a Bachelor of Music in organ performance from Samford University in Birmingham, Alabama under the tutelage of Sam Batt Owens’ pupil Dr. James Dorroh. While studying at Samford, Josh served as Music Associate at Saint Luke’s Episcopal Church. He then completed the Master of Music in Organ Performance degree at Indiana University’s Jacobs School of Music, studying organ literature and improvisation with Bruce Neswick. Mr. Bullock regularly assisted in various aspects of music ministry at Saint Francis in-the-Fields Episcopal Church, and Calvary Episcopal Church – both in Louisville, Kentucky. He also subbed as a staff tenor in the Choir of Men and Boys at Christ Church Cathedral, Indianapolis, Indiana.

Upon completing the Master of Music program, Josh returned to Alabama and pursued post-graduate studies at the University of Alabama. Josh has also served the following parishes in the Diocese of Alabama: Episcopal Church of the Holy Spirit, Alabaster (Director of Music); Saint Mary’s on-the-Highlands, Birmingham (Music Associate); Saint Michael and All Angels, Anniston (Organist & Choirmaster). Mr. Bullock currently serves as Director of Music and Organist at Saint Peter’s Episcopal Church, Talladega. In 2022, The Rt. Rev. Dr. Glenda S. Curry, Bishop of the Diocese of Alabama, appointed Josh to the diocesan Department of Music and Liturgy. In addition to his ecclesiastical duties, Josh works as a real estate agent with RealtySouth in Birmingham.
