Lau, Robert C.

Robert Lau holds a Bachelor of Science in Music Education from Lebanon Valley College, a Master of Arts in Theory from the Eastman School of Music and a Doctor of Philosophy in Musicology from The Catholic University of America. Dr. Lau is Professor Emeritus of Music at Lebanon Valley College where he taught for 22 years, chairing the music department for eleven years. He also served as Adjunct Professor of Music at Penn State Harrisburg.

Robert Lau has more than 400 choral and keyboard works published by the leading music publishing companies in the United States. He has been commissioned to write choral and keyboard works for a variety of churches, individuals and institutions. For his work in published choral and keyboard music he has been awarded 15 Special Awards by ASCAP. He has held positions as organist and director of music in various denominations, most recently as Organist/Choirmaster at Mt. Calvary Episcopal Church in Camp Hill, PA.

Dr. Lau presents workshops and clinics on a variety of topics for churches and organizations throughout the United States. He is a member of the American Guild of Organists, the American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers (ASCAP), and the American Choral Directors Association.
He has been the recipient of various awards from his alma mater, Lebanon Valley College, including the Alumni Citation and the Creative Achievement Award. Theatre Harrisburg (PA) awarded him their Award for Distinguished Service to the Arts in the Capital Region.
