Description
The words of Henri Nouwen have become meaningful to more and more Christians around the world, and this anthem is a lovely example of illuminating those words. Jon Simsic has chosen words for Advent, in preparation for Christmas, opening with Gregorian chant-like lines. These are developed in four parts with much rhythmic activity and ending quietly with an “Amen.” This piece will be a splendid addition to the Advent repertory.
