This most thoughtful text is set to music of lyrical expressiveness. Ms. Bonighton has chosen a text of Delores Dufner, OSB that shows the many-faceted longings for Christ.
“. . . as the weeping wait for mirth, as a farmer waits for harvest, and a woman waits for birth, so do I wait for You:” each verse displays vivid images such as these. Each verse ends with a refrain of longing:”. . . so do I wait for You.”
The voices are treaded in fourpart harmony and as duets and solos as well.
