Description
Alun Hoddinott captures the prayerful spirit of the opening text using quiet dynamics in both voice and organ parts. In the middle section, the composer increases the dynamic levels in the homophonic choral parts and adds running 32nd notes in the organ score to enhance the text " Rise up, my love, my fair one, and come away."
