Description

This imaginative arrangement is in German and takes the opening dotted rhythm as a possibility for development. Each of the three verses are somewhat different in texture (there is some divisi) and harmony. Advanced choirs will enjoy this new arrangement for its challenges and audiences will love its rich sound.

Meet June Nixon in person…

This well-known carol was arranged for the choir of St. Paul’s Cathedral, Melbourne, so it is quite challenging for most choirs. All parts of some divisi writing although the tenors do not have very much. Additionally, it is arranged to be sung in German. I find this to be rather lovely unaccompanied SATB with divisi arrangement well worth the effort of more advanced choirs. The soprano part does go up quite high, and the second bases have to go right down to a low D.
