Description

The Lord at First Did Adam Make
arr. June Nixon

An imaginative setting of a familiar English carol, this alternates a four-part setting of the refrain with different textures for the verses and brief organ interludes.

Meet June Nixon in person…

This is a remarkably simple arrangement of the carol although the chorus of the carol is unaccompanied which does lead to a danger of dropping pitch which would be rather obvious when the organ next reenters. However, this should not be a problem if the choir is moderately competent or does not have a bass who is susceptible to the pull of gravity. It is a lovely arrangement and could enhance any carol service or performance.
