Description
Jacob Handl was one of the finest sacred composers of the late Renaissance. His works show the influence of both the Italian and Flemish schools. While he spent most of his life in Slovenia he was well traveled and no doubt picked up his distinctive musical style in this way. This motet (one of over 400 he composed) is typical of his fluid expertise in polyphony. This edition can be sung in both Latin and English and is a splendid introduction to the beauties of the Renaissance motet.
