Description
Adoramus Te, Christe
Randall Giles
Randall Gile’s setting of this Vesper’s text is reminiscent of the Renaissance motet style in its clarity and simplicity. While firmly 20th century in harmonic content, the influence of the Renaissance masters can be heard in its word pointing and subtle rhythmic variation. Mr. Giles has also included an English text for the work, broadening its possibilities for choirs not accustomed to Latin. This intriguing and moving work would be appropriate for general use and for feasts celebrating the Holy Cross.
