Description
Away in a Manger
Michael Emery
This arrangement uses the famous W. J. Kirkpatrick melody in a lovely setting of this text. The organ begins with an ostinato figure that pervades the first verse, which is sung in unison. The second verse is a cappella in four parts with a particularly interesting bass line. The final verse returns to the spirit of the opening and concludes with a descant over the choir and a short coda for the organ.
