It is a Thing Most Wonderful
Richard Busch has created a sensitive and intense setting of this Passiontide text. As the speaker recalls Jesus’ love for us, the music takes on a lovely lyricism that is harmonically simple. Later, as the speaker reflects on the Crucifixion, the music becomes more intense, with more chromatic writing and disjointed rhythms. The text, accompanied by gentle and serene music, implores the love of Jesus to change his heart. The anthem ends in this gentle manner.
