Description
This is a delightful dance-like setting of this great text. The extensive organ part starts right off with a swinging figuration that permeates the entire piece. Miller sets the vocal parts in duets as well as powerful octaves that give a strength to the profile of this anthem.
A more contemplative section is found in the middle at the text, “Quoniam confirmata est.” All the while, Miller provides wonderful opportunities for the organist to underline the text with subtle color changes. A return to the opening material at the “Gloria” and finally the opening text creates a festive ending.
This is a brilliant anthem of praise for any festive occasion.
