Craig Phillips has provided a fresh and delightful arrangement of this traditional English carol. One notes immediately the fluidity and running figurations of the character organ part. This provides a splendid counterpoint to the choral writing. Voices are used in varied combinations and the final verse includes a soaring descant over the full choir with a pastoral “drone” from the organ. This arrangement can also be sung in unison thus making it available to choirs of all abilities.
