Description
I Sing of a Maiden
Michael Emery
Michael Emery has taken this well-known 15th century text and placed it into a traditional modern setting. Colorful harmonies and subtle meter changes seem to evoke a feeling of calm and stillness. All voice parts are written in their middle registers, creating warmth of sound and unity of ensemble. The dynamic level never exceeds mezzo-piano in keeping with the subtlety of the text. A recording of this work is available on “GLoriae Dei Cantores 020, “This World’s Joie”. An order may be placed simultaneously with an octavo purchase.
